Totobi Quakyi gifts 5 PCs in WR pickups for campaign

A former Minister of State in the erstwhile Rawlings Administration, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, has set a goal for the party to overturn the vote deficit it recorded in the 2020 presidential election in the Western Region.

Former President John Dramani Mahama failed to recapture power from President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo in the 2000 presidential election, with a vote deficit of 42 thousand in the Western Region.

“This election must be won. And we must set a goal to overturn the deficit we recorded in the last presidential election. At least, we should overturn it with a minimum of 1000 votes.”

Mr. Totobi Quakyi gave the charge while presenting four-wheeler pick-up vehicles, with the support of regional executives of the party, to the parliamentary candidates of Mpohor, Ahanta West, Amenfi East, Shama, and Kwesimintsim.

He reiterated, “This election must be won,” therefore the vehicles are to enable you, our parliamentary candidates, and your respective teams to become more mobile as you engage “in a vigorous campaign to capture power.”

“Your campaign should be a 24-hour door-to-door one, vigorous and unrelenting. Ghanaians are calling us, and we must heed their call.”

The Western Region Chairman of the party, Nana Toku, explained that the best way for the beneficiary parliamentary candidates to show their appreciation would be to win their respective constituencies, and he entreated them to work harder than before.

Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East, Nicholas Amankwah, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary parliamentary candidates, expressed profound gratitude for the gesture and pledged to work hard to win their various constituencies while increasing the presidential votes for their standard bearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Kofi Totobi Quakyi, in the run-up to the 2000 general elections, extended similar support when he presented eight four-wheeler pickup vehicles to parliamentary candidates in the region.
