Renowned Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor dies 62

Amaechi Muonagor, a veteran actor in Nollywood, has passed away at the age of 62 after battling a prolonged illness.

Muonagor had been grappling with kidney failure and undergoing dialysis treatments.

The news of his sudden demise comes shortly after a widely circulated video where he appealed for financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant.

Born on August 20, 1962, Muonagor hailed from Idemili, Anambra State. He was known not only as an actor but also as a producer. In 2016, he earned a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy at the AMVCA 2017.

Following his youth service, Muonagor began his career at the News Agency of Nigeria in 1989. However, he later transitioned into acting, making his debut in the movie industry with his role as Akunatakasi in “Taboo 1,” a Nigerian film.
