Renowned Highlife artist Kwabena Kwakye Kabobo, popularly known as K.K Kabobo, has passed away after a prolonged battle with liver disease.

Just a few weeks prior, a fundraising initiative was launched to assist K.K Kabobo in covering his medical expenses.

Former President John Dramani Mahama and celebrated singer Wendy Shay demonstrated their solidarity by contributing GHC5,000 and GHC10,000 respectively towards the cause.

Kabobo was a respected member of the Professional Musicians Association of Ghana (PROMAG) and served as a board member for copyright management.

He rose to prominence with his chart-topping track “Onyame Ahu” and established his initial band, Explosive Jets, back in 1978.

Prior to pursuing his music career, he dedicated two years to teaching as a pupil teacher. Regrettably, Kabobo leaves behind 16 children and had relationships with 5 mothers.
