NDC Promises Media Welfare In The 2024 Manifesto

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it will include the welfare of the media in its 2024 manifesto.

At a press soiree with journalists in the Western region, the National Communications Officer of the party, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, said the media, being the fourth realm, plays a critical role in the development of the country, would need support to function effectively.

According to, Mr. Gyamfi the welfare of the media, would enable media practitioners to upgrade themselves in their careers, which would benefit the nation.

“There will be a place for the media in the next government; we have already spoken about the media development fund, which we hope to establish and strengthen to support the media, particularly in the area of career development,”

Mr. Gyamfi expressed optimism that, with the help of the media, the NDC would snatch power from the governing party, the NPP.

He applauded the media for their good work in the region, especially in adding their voices to the fight against illegal mining and other social issues in the region and the country at large.

Mr. Gyamfi added that the party will partner with the media to foster the development of the country.

” We aren’t just saying thank you because we follow what you do. We are here to salute you for your service to the region, professionals, and our beloved nation. We respect our relationship with the media because we see you as the fourth estate of the realm; we see you as an agent and key partner in our quest to develop and transform our nation, Ghana.

We are here to say thank you, encourage you to do more, and assure you of better collaboration, particularly in this election year.” He said.
