Today, Monday, February 19, 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is set to introduce his campaign team to the National Executive Committee and National Council of the party.
Following this meeting, the names of the campaign team members are expected to be disclosed.
Sources within the party, as reported by Citi News, suggest that former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dan Botwe, is a probable choice for the campaign manager role in the upcoming 2024 general election.
Dan Botwe was among the ministers who recently lost their positions in a reshuffle conducted by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo last week. Whether this potential appointment is related to the reshuffle remains uncertain.
Nevertheless, insiders close to the NPP flagbearer assert that this decision was reached after extensive consultations with party members at various levels.
