LPG Marketers Association Criticizes NPA’s Cylinder Circulation Module Implementation

The Liquified Petroleum Gas Marketers Association says the implementation of the cylinder circulation module by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has been ineffective.

The Vice President of the Association, Gabriel Kumi, says the NPA has not been practical with the implementation of the program.

He explains that the program was unsuccessful because the LPG marketers, who are key stakeholders in the industry, were not adequately engaged.

Mr. Kumi, however, urged the NPA to go back and engage to ensure effective implementation of the policy.

Responding to this, Abass Tasunti, Head of Pricing Regulations at the NPA, said his outfit has established the needed structures in collaboration with the various stakeholders to kick-start full implementation of the CRM across the country.

He says that from the first quarter of this year, consumers will start seeing the cages at the various fueling stations, stressing that about 100 cylinder exchange points have been approved to start operations.
