NPP Parliamentary candidate elect, Charles Bissue, expresses gratitude to Essikado Omanhene Nana Kobina Nketsia IV

In a display of deep respect and gratitude, the newly elected NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Essikado-Ketan constituency, Charles Cromwell N.O. Bissue, paid a courtesy visit to Omanhene Nana Kobina Nketsia IV after securing his electoral triumph.

Addressing the media, Mr Bissue emphasized his allegiance to Nana Kobina Nketsia IV, citing the Omanhene’s blessings as a crucial factor in his victory. He expressed the significance of returning to offer thanks and seek additional blessings for the polls ahead.

“…as an indigene, I swear allegiance to Nana Kobina Nketsia. When I picked my nomination before submission, I came to ask for his blessings. He prayed for me and after that I won the elections. So, it is imperative that I come back to him to thank him and ask him for more blessings for the fight ahead.”

Acknowledging the common practice of politicians seeking support from traditional leaders during elections, Charles Bissue vowed not to be a politician who turns away after achieving power. He highlighted the importance of maintaining strong ties with Chiefs, Imams, Pastors, and Churches even beyond the electoral process.

“When some politicians are looking for power, we go to the Chiefs, Imams, Pastors, Churches, etc and they help us achieve what we are looking for and then afterwards, we turn our backs on them. So I came back to reassure him that I’m not going to be that kind of politician.”

Nana Kobina Nketsia IV, while welcoming him, offered advice for a respectful and inclusive approach in the upcoming general elections. He emphasized the broader responsibility of the parliamentary role, urging Bissue to represent not only the NPP but the entire constituency, irrespective of political affiliations when voted for in the general elections.

The Omanhene also reminded Mr Bissue of the familial connection with his opponent from the opposing political spectrum, urging a campaign devoid of insults and name-calling.

“I would have been more delighted if Giovani and Hormaa had joined you to come here. Remember you were voted by the people to not go and represent the NPP but the entire constituency, should you win the general elections.”

“Your opponent on the other side of the political divide is a daughter to us. I admonish you to go into this election devoid of insults and name calling”, he added.

Furthermore, Charles Bissue assured constituents of Essikado-Ketan of his commitment to consistency and honesty, pledging to champion Dr. Bawumia’s agenda to secure widespread support and a resounding victory in the constituency.

“Expect consistency and honesty ahead of the general polls. I will also push Dr Bawumia’s agenda to gain more votes and win handsomely in Essikado-Ketan constituency.”

The visit to Omanhene Nana Kobina Nketsia IV serves as a testament to Bissue’s dedication to fostering positive relationships and maintaining principled politics.”
