John Mahama Emphasizes The Importance Of Technology and Digitalization In The 24-hour Economic Policy

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emphasizes the centrality of technology and digitalization in his envisioned 24-hour economic policy if elected into power.

Recognizing the pivotal role of technology in boosting productivity and efficiency in the workforce, Mr Mahama underscores his administration’s commitment to embracing artificial intelligence (AI) across industries and the entire economy, aiming to position the country on a more global scale.

The former president made these remarks during the second day of the ongoing 75th New Year School and Conference in Accra.

Amidst cheers and chants from students and conference participants, former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the NDC, arrived at the University of Ghana grounds hosting the 75th New Year School and Conference.

During his address, Mr. Mahama emphasized the pivotal role of technology in national development, asserting that it is crucial for positioning the country among the developed global nations.

He reminded Ghanaians of the NDC administration’s commitment to technology, citing the establishment of the National Communications Authority (NCA) and GIFEC, among other initiatives, aimed at regulating and promoting technology across various sectors of the economy.

Former President Mahama pledged to integrate technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), into his 24-hour economic agenda if elected, aiming to provide the country’s development with a global perspective.

In response to questions from the audience, Mr. Mahama pledged to eliminate the salary structure for Article 75 officeholders to ensure parity in remuneration in the workforce.

Additionally, he expressed the intention to review the implementation of specific policies in the education sector to enhance its effectiveness.
