Police investigate Nigerian afrobeats star Davido over alleged threats to Tiwa Savage
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido is currently facing a police investigation following a report filed against him by fellow singer Tiwa Savage.
The tensions between the two artists supposedly ignited when Tiwa shared an Instagram story featuring herself and the mother of one of Davido’s children.
According to Tiwa’s police report, Davido took offense to the post, perceiving it as a deliberate provocation.
Allegedly, Davido responded with disrespectful and derogatory remarks directed at Tiwa.
Furthermore, Tiwa accused Davido of sending individuals to warn her to “be careful in Lagos”, which she views as “unethical” and “a direct threat to my rights to life, privacy and dignity”.
As of now, Davido has not responded to these allegations.
Reports suggest that both artists have unfollowed each other on Instagram amidst this controversy.
Confirming the situation, Lagos state police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin verified that they have received Tiwa’s report and have initiated investigations into the matter.
