OFFICIAL: Chris Hughton Names Ghana Squad For AFCON 2023

Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton has named his final 27-man squad as CAF demands ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast this year.

The 27 players were picked from the provisional 55 sent to CAF nearly two weeks ago. Deputy skipper Thomas Partey, due to injury, did not secure a spot in the final squad.

Left-back Abdul Baba Rahman and Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu have all been left out of the squad despite their fine form for the club.

Three players from the local league—Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey, Medema left-back Fatawu Hamidu, and striker Jonathan Sowah—make Ghana’s final squad.
