Fast & Furious actor Vin Diesel accused of sexual assault by former assistant
Vin Diesel, renowned for his roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, faces a lawsuit from his former assistant, Asta Jonasson, alleging sexual assault during the 2010 filming of Fast Five.
Jonasson claims Diesel assaulted her at an Atlanta hotel, pinning her to a wall while engaging in a sex act despite her protests.
The lawsuit further contends she was wrongfully terminated by Diesel’s company shortly after the incident.
The lawsuit states Jonasson was physically overpowered by Diesel and groped against her consent. After attempting to escape, she alleges Diesel restrained her and continued his actions.
According to the suit, she was fired by Diesel’s sister, Samantha Vincent, indicating that she was no longer useful after Diesel’s alleged actions.
The lawsuit additionally mentions an earlier incident where another executive from the company reportedly made advances toward Jonasson.
Her legal action covers claims of sexual battery, gender discrimination, illegal retaliation, emotional distress, and wrongful termination.
Diesel’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, vehemently denies the allegations, stating Diesel had never heard of these claims made by a former employee of only nine days.
Conversely, Jonasson’s lawyer, Claire-Lise Kutlay, emphasized her client’s aim to hold Diesel and those involved in the alleged assault accountable, hoping her bravery encourages others to speak out.
This legal action unfolds against a backdrop where Vin Diesel, both an actor and producer, holds significant prominence in Hollywood due to his involvement in the Fast & Furious series and other blockbuster films like Guardians of the Galaxy, XXX, and Riddick.
