The National Democratic Congress (NDC) asserts that the 2024 budget presented in Parliament is devoid of hope and inspiration, failing to address current challenges faced by Ghanaians.

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, expressed this view on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, describing the budget as “hopeless, uninspiring, and [it] fails to address the economic hardship that Ghanaians are living under.”

He further commented on Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s projection that Ghana’s economy is expected to exceed GH¢1 trillion in 2024, calling it the lowest point of the budget presentation.

Gyamfi emphasized that the projected growth is not reflective of real improvement but is influenced by extremely high inflation negatively impacting ordinary Ghanaians.

He stated that the projected nominal GDP of GH¢1 trillion holds no significant positive impact on the worsening livelihoods of Ghanaians, emphasizing its lack of relevance to the everyday economic struggles faced by the people.
