Ghanaians Hate Quality Movies – Berima Bediide

Multi-talented actor Alex Oduro, known popularly as Bediide has stated categorically that Ghanaians enjoy the quality movies they produce but rather prefer the ones made with less effort.

For many years now Ghanaians have always complained about the Ghanaian movie (especially Kumawood) and how bad it comes out.

Ghanaians mostly complain about their video quality, their sound, excess delay on a particular scene and even the whole storyline that mostly doesn’t make sense. In a radio discussion with Bediide on Spice FM’s OFIE ne fie show host Nana Ama Shancy raised these concerns and his revelations were shocking.

According to actor Berima Bediide, the same Ghanaians complaining are the same people who enjoy what they complain about.

“Sometimes I sit and ask myself why most Ghanaians are hypocrites. Would you believe that the movies and skits they complain about are the ones that get more views on YouTube and other platforms?

The movies they complain about are what they enjoy watching. Sometimes we go the extra mile, get expensive cameras, and shoot to classic standards. The stories are on point, the camera quality is on point, and sound checks, editing, and everything else are superb.

Yet after all these efforts and resources invested, you’ll see your views on YouTube, and you might think of giving up. But just take your phone, be in a noisy place, and take a video and you’ll see the high views you’ll get. We are doing what they want”, he explained.

Alex Oduro also called those who claim the movie industry has almost collapsed daft. He said emphatically that the movie industry hasn’t collapsed but rather the trend has changed and we need to embrace that.
