Edwin Kusi-Appiah, the legal representative for Asamoah Gyan, has refuted claims that the court ordered his client to transfer a fuel station, two cars, a house in London, and other assets to his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan.

On October 31, 2023, information circulated on social media that Gyan had been ordered by the court to pay Gifty a monthly stipend of GHȼ25,000 for the welfare and upkeep of their three children.

Kusi-Appiah clarified that Gyan had actually prevailed in the legal proceedings and that the properties mentioned were already in Gifty’s name.

He explained that Gyan had sought to annul his marriage to Gifty due to her undisclosed prior marriage, which rendered their own marriage invalid.

Gyan had petitioned to annul of his marriage after discovering that his wife, whom he married in 2013, was already married to another person, which he was unaware of.

In response, Gifty argued that their marriage was a marriage of convenience and requested the court to dissolve it rather than annul it.

She also sought several houses, multiple cars, and other assets, which the court did not grant.

Kusi-Appiah noted that the court confirmed that Gifty was indeed married before her union with Gyan and proceeded to annul their marriage.

However, there was no specific clarification regarding the alleged monthly allowance of GHȼ25,000 intended for the welfare and support of the three children Gyan shares with his ex-wife, Gifty.
