Roads are one of the most important infrastructures that enable human movement and transportation of goods and services.
However, bad roads can retard the socio-economic development of a community.
This is the plight of residents in Assemkrom, a community in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western region.
According to them, their roads lie in a sorry state, which is taking a toll on their businesses and livelihoods.
The residents pleaded with the Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Dorcas Affo Toffey, during a community engagement.
Workers, students, and the whole community find it difficult to access the road.
“We are appealing to the government through our minister to help us fix the road because our businesses are collapsing. The drivers charge exorbitant fees, hence affecting our trade.”
Kara Fase observed that the road network is the worst experience as a tour agent.
He said the government should swiftly attend to repairing the road, as the road leads to one of the best national parks in the country.
“We travel the whole of Ghana, and I’ve never seen a road like this before. This is the worst road. We had to park our vehicle on the outskirts of the town and get on a bike. The government should do it outrightly because this town has the best National Park,” He said.
The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Madam Toffey, assured the residents of getting the government to fix the road.
