Chinese authorities are currently conducting an investigation following the circulation of a viral video that appears to depict an employee of Tsingtao, a prominent beer producer in China, urinating into a tank believed to contain ingredients for their popular beer.

This video has garnered millions of views on social media platforms.

Tsingtao promptly reported the video to the police upon becoming aware of it and assured that the batch of ingredients in question had been securely sealed.

The incident occurred at the “Tsingtao beer No.3 factory,” as indicated by the video’s location tag.

However, it has been revealed that neither the person who recorded the video nor the one seen urinating in it were direct employees of the company, according to an internal source cited by the “National Business Daily.”

The market supervision and administration bureau of Pingdu City, where the factory is situated, initiated an on-site investigation upon discovering the video and sealed the entire batch of ingredients featured in the clip.

They have pledged to handle the matter seriously once more details are confirmed.

Tsingtao expressed its utmost concern over the video and confirmed that the police have launched an official investigation into the incident.

The video has caused shock and consternation on Chinese social media, given Tsingtao’s widespread recognition both domestically and internationally.

Some are contemplating the potential impact on the brand’s reputation, while others wonder if this is an isolated occurrence.

The incident led to a notable drop in Tsingtao Brewery’s stock shares when the Shanghai Stock Exchange opened on Monday morning, although they later stabilized in the afternoon.

It’s worth noting that the Hong Kong market, where Tsingtao shares are also listed, was closed on Monday for the Chung Yeung Festival holiday.
