John Dramani Mahama, the former President and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was officially recognized as the Development Chief of the Penyi traditional area in the Ketu North Municipality during a vibrant gathering of local chiefs and residents in Penyi.
He was bestowed with the title ‘Togbi Dunenyo I, the Nugoryifia of the Penyi Traditional Area.’ The event featured an enthusiastic reception for Mr. Mahama by the community, marked by music and dance.
Togbiga Dadzi V, the paramount chief of Penyi, expressed gratitude to Mr. Mahama for accepting their invitation and commended the NDC for its contributions to the development of the area.
He also called for continued support from the NDC for further development projects in the region when they return to power.
Penyi Nugoryiza is an annual festival celebrated by the people and chiefs of Penyi, one of the traditional areas in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region.
