Morocco: Authorities to help rebuild 50,000 quake-damaged homes
About 50,000 homes that were damaged by the earthquake last week will be rebuilt, according to plans made public by Moroccan authorities.
For the reconstruction of completely destroyed homes, they will contribute more than $13,000 (£10,460), and for homes that have only sustained partial damage, they will contribute $8,000 instead.
In the interim, residents will be provided with transitional housing that is insulated against the cold and will each receive a $3,000 grant.
It is still unknown how many people are left homeless.
The 6.8 magnitude earthquake left over 5,000 people injured and nearly 3,000 people confirmed dead.
