NPP Presidential Race: Ken Agyapong picks 1, Bawumia picks 2 after balloting to set stage for November 4 primaries
The Presidential Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), engaged in a constructive and interactive session with the four contenders vying for the party’s presidential primaries.
This crucial meeting, which took place on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, marked a huge step toward the upcoming party primaries scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023. This was disseminated in a statement signed by William Yamoah, the Secretary of the NPP Presidential Elections Committee.
During this session, the contestants and the Elections Committee collaboratively reached a consensus on the modalities and guidelines that will govern the conduct of the crucial November 4 elections. The harmonious agreement reached between the committee and the presidential hopefuls lays the groundwork for a transparent and well-organized electoral process.
In a joint effort with officials from the Electoral Commission of Ghana, the Elections Committee successfully executed the balloting process for the contestants.
The outcome of this ballot determined the order in which the candidates will appear on the ballot paper. Notably, Ken Ohene Agyapong secured the top spot, followed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in second place, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto in third place, and Francis Addai Nimo in fourth place.
