I’m extremely disturbed by what happened -Alan speaks to attack on his campaign coordinator
An aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has denounced the assault on Ali Zakaria, his campaign coordinator in the North East region of the country.
When he paid Zakaria a visit at the hospital where he is receiving treatment, the former trades minister made the remarks.
After attempting to stop a delegate from publicly displaying his cast ballot, Ali Zakaria allegedly came under attack from alleged supporter’s of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Kyerematen, who finished third in the conference on Saturday, spoke to the media after paying a visit to Zakaria and called the attack at the Nalerigu Senior High School a stain on the party’s reputation.
“I won’t put up with this sort of behavior. It doesn’t make sense, and how do we intend to be able to conduct ourselves as a family trying to choose a leader in a peaceful and organized manner when we have 200,000 plus people gathered?”
“To be completely honest, I’m extremely disturbed by what happened. The party must refrain from exaggerating what occurred.”
On Tuesday, August 29, the NPP elections committee met with some prospective flagbearers to discuss some issues they encountered at the conference.
Alexander Afenyo Markin, the NPP Elections Committee’s spokesperson, also revealed that the committee on Tuesday had fruitful discussions with flagbearer candidate Kennedy Agyapong regarding his widely-circulated showdown comment made during the special delegates conference.
“Our engagement was very successful. In isolated instances where they encountered problems, some agents also released their reports on those events, giving us the chance to hear from them in full. On Thursday, we’ll get together with a few more members”, he said on Citi FM in Accra.
“We also had the chance to meet with one of the aspirants who made certain statements that went viral and had a positive engagement with him,” Mr. Afenyo-Markin continued. And I must say, things are looking up. “.
