NPP advises delegates against displaying ballots in upcoming Special Delegates Conference
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a cautionary advisory to its delegates, urging them to refrain from revealing their cast ballots after participating in the upcoming Special Delegates Conference slated for Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Approximately 900 NPP delegates are poised to exercise their right to vote to trim down the list of ten presidential aspirants to a more concise group of five contenders.
This Special Electoral College event is to set the stage for the main national conference scheduled for November 4, 2023, during which the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 general election will be elected.
Amidst months of rigorous campaign efforts by the aspirants, campaigning across the country in a bid to secure the favor of the delegates, the forthcoming nationwide poll stands as a defining moment that could significantly influence the trajectories of their respective political journeys.
Issuing a statement that outlines the strategies in place to ensure the seamless progression of the voting process, the NPP underscored the importance of avoiding the public exhibition of cast ballots. The party emphasized that such an act constitutes a criminal offense under the prevailing legal framework.
