Renowned music producer and artiste manager, Wei Ye Oteng, has affirmed that artiste managers are the only people to be blamed for the ungrateful attitude put up by artiste.
On Spice FM’s OFIE ne fie hosted by Nana Ama Shancy, Wei ye Oteng made it clear that most managers play dumb sometimes and that’s the main cause of artists being ungrateful.
“The ungratefulness comes in so many ways and I think we the managers are to be blamed for that. I’m saying this because no matter the situation, there should be a contract. Before you pick someone and make him a household artiste, you’re going to spend a lot. Now the problem is when it’s time for you to reap, the artiste will opt out and that’s painful.
They do that without thinking about your loss and the sacrifices but they can’t just opt out when contracts are included” ” he cleared.
Mr Oteng further added that artists sometimes perform, sign ambassadorial deals and take huge monies behind their managers. “Some artists can be so heartless.
They don’t even care what you’re doing for them. They can go behind you and perform at certain places behind your back take huge sums and pretend nothing happened. When you later find out and ask about it, they’ll just lie. Not just performance, they even sign deals you the manager knows nothing about, I mean they do a lot”, He detailed.
According to “Wei ye Oteng”, the only thing that can eliminate the ungratefulness tag when it comes to artists and their managers is the signing of contracts.
