During the weekend, a fire outbreak in the Bibiani Anhweaso Bekwai municipality, located in the Western North Region, led to the displacement of certain residents from their homes.

The incident resulted in the destruction of five bedrooms within a building comprising a total of 13 bedrooms.

The fire not only caused structural damage but also consumed various valuable belongings, including educational certificates, mattresses, refrigerators, television sets, and clothing.

An eyewitness who recounted the event mentioned observing thick smoke emerging from one of the rooms.

Although he swiftly attempted to contain the flames, his initial efforts were unsuccessful. Despite his prompt response, the fire rapidly spread, surpassing his attempts to control it.

Afterward, bystanders were able to contact the fire service, who arrived shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, the affected tenants were unable to salvage any of their belongings.

Richmond Appiah, the Public Relations Officer for the Bibiani Fire Service, took the opportunity to underscore the importance of fire safety within the community.

He stressed the significance of residents diligently turning off household appliances before leaving their homes. Appiah emphasized that such proactive measures play a crucial role in mitigating the risk of fire incidents.
