Two students from Gomoa Buduatta DA Junior High School faced a distressing situation when they were denied entry to sit for the first paper of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Monday.

This unfortunate incident arose due to the headmaster’s decision to withhold the exam registration fees of these students. As a consequence, they were excluded from participating in the ongoing examination due to the absence of index numbers.

The failure of the headmaster to forward the collected fees to the appropriate authorities triggered anger among the parents of the affected students. This abrupt denial of their children’s right to partake in this crucial examination left them deeply infuriated.

The students who were affected found themselves in a helpless position due to the lack of index numbers, preventing them from taking the exam they had diligently prepared for. The situation evoked intense emotions as outraged parents gathered at the school premises to voice their grievances and demand justice for their children.

Driven by their frustration, some parents even issued threats to confront the absent headmaster, attributing his alleged negligence as the cause of this predicament. This underscores the gravity of the circumstance and highlights their unwavering resolve to uphold their children’s educational entitlements.

In a heartrending scene, the two students who were barred from the examination room were observed shedding tears while their fellow peers commenced the exam.

“He is noted for that. We won’t beat him anyway, but we will threaten him. Each child is supposed to pay four hundred cedis each. We are waiting for him.

Some angry parents who spoke to Citi News explained, “What he has done to the students is not the best. At his age, he shouldn’t be doing this. We want to heckle him small to serve as a deterrent. When they were about to write the exams they went to check out their index numbers. Some of the students said the index numbers did not emerge. My child is at home because she couldn’t register as a result of the headmaster failing to register her.”
