Ofori-Atta scheduled to deliver the Mid-Year Budget Review today
Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, the Minister of Finance, is expected to present the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government, along with Supplementary Estimates for the 2023 Financial Year, to Parliament today, July 31.
Ofori-Atta was originally scheduled to deliver the Mid-Year Budget Review on July 27, 2023. The event was subsequently rescheduled to July 25, 2023.
However, it was ultimately canceled again and rescheduled for Monday, 31st July, 2023.
The Mid-Year Fiscal Policy aligns with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
This review is an assessment of the government’s 2023 Economic Policy and Financial Statement, which was initially presented to Parliament by the Minister of Finance on November 24, 2022.
During the review, the government’s adherence to the recommendations set forth by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be outlined, ensuring the continuation of payments from the agreed support package.
Ghana had previously received its first payment of approximately $600 million from the IMF in May, and a second payment is scheduled for November.
