On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed that it had carried out a search warrant at a property in Henderson, Nevada in connection with the ongoing investigation into the 1996 murder of musician Tupac Shakur.

The LVMPD released the following statement:.

“LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Authorities have not made a statement about where the search took place.

In 1996, Shakur was shot several times in Las Vegas as he was leaving a boxing match at the MGM Grand hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

He was in a car with former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight when a white Cadillac pulled up next to them and started shooting out the back window.

The rapper was reportedly believed to be the shooting’s intended target at the time, according to reports, but the case has remained unsolved since 1996.
