Alan Kyerematen, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), believes that the party’s chances of winning the 2024 elections would be enhanced if he is elected as the presidential candidate.
During his campaign tour in the Volta Region, Kyerematen expressed his belief that he could attract votes for the NPP in the region if given the opportunity to lead the party.
He stated, “I want you to carefully consider all of us. Among the contestants, who is most likely to become Ghana’s next president if chosen as the flagbearer? Only one person stands out among the contestants, and that person is Alan Kyerematen. I am the only one who can stand toe to toe with the NDC and effectively market the party to the people of Ghana.”
On July 17, 2023, while addressing delegates from various constituencies in Aflao, Ketu South, Dzodze, and Sogakope, Kyerematen assured the people of the Volta region that he was willing to take up the role of their godfather, following in the footsteps of the late President Jerry John Rawlings, if they supported him in winning the presidency.
He urged delegates in the region to rally behind him in the NPP primaries scheduled for November and ultimately in the 2024 elections, with the goal of becoming the President and continuing the positive role played by the late President Rawlings in the region’s development.
