Jordan Ayew, the winger for the Black Stars, expressed his belief that he and his brother, Andre Ayew, still have more years to contribute to the national team, despite nearing the end of their careers.
Jordan, who will turn 32 in September, has earned 90 caps for the senior national team since his debut in 2010. Andre, who will be 34 in December and has over 100 caps for the Black Stars, has been a prominent figure in Ghanaian football.
“It’s like a dream come true for us. We will enjoy it, knowing that it won’t last forever, but we still have more years to give,” Jordan stated in an interview with GTV Sports.
The Ayew brothers hold positions in the top five of Ghana’s all-time appearance list and have played together in two World Cup campaigns, including the upcoming one in Qatar 2022.
“It’s always a pleasure to play alongside my brother,” Jordan added.
In addition to representing the national team together, the Ayew brothers have also shared the same jersey at the club level. They played for Marseille and later Swansea City in 2018. A memorable instance was when Jordan scored in his second game for Marseille, and Andre Ayew achieved a hat-trick for ‘The Olympians’.
