Western Regional Branch Of NDC Begins Vetting Of Parliamentary Aspirants

Vetting of Parliamentary aspirants of the major opposition party, NDC in the Western Region has begun in Sekondi.

This is part of the build-up to the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries slated for Saturday, May 13, 2023.

The vetting is to take place across all 275 constituencies of the nation to elect a flag bearer as well as a Parliamentary candidate for the 2024 elections.

The vetting process has so far witnessed aspirants from Amenfi East, Amenfi West, Jomoro, and Amenfi Central.

Madam Dorcas Affo Toffey, incumbent MP for Jomoro expressed optimism that she will sail through the vetting and retain her seat.

Meanwhile,  vetting has been put vetting in 3 constituencies on hold.

According to the Regional Communications Officer, Kirk Mensah, the three constituencies have been put on hold for a tactical reason to ensure the party win the seats.

Three members of Parliament, including Isaac Adjei Mensah, MP for Wassa Amenfi, Wisdom Cudjoe, MP for Prestea-Huni-Valley, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle and the Deputy Minority Leader of Parliament, ran unopposed out of the total 35 candidates who submitted nomination forms to run for the 14 seats.
