Counterfeit cigarettes worth €10m seized in west Dublin
In the Republic of Ireland, counterfeit cigarettes worth an estimated €10 million (£8.5 million) have been seized by the police.
The cigarettes were found in a trailer on Tuesday in a yard in west Dublin during a search, according to An Garda Síochána (Irish police).
The search was carried out as part of Operation Tara, an initiative targeting organized crime, the police said.
Investigations are ongoing, and no one has been taken into custody.
Revenue officials have taken the cigarettes away for analysis and estimate a loss to the Irish Exchequer of €7.5m (£6.42m) if the counterfeit cigarettes had been sold.
