CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues has officially confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti will assume the position of Brazil’s head coach after his current contract with Real Madrid expires. This announcement follows the departure of Tite after the 2022 World Cup. In the meantime, Fernando Diniz will serve as the interim coach for a year, simultaneously managing the Selecao and his role as Fluminense manager.
Once Ancelotti’s contract with Real Madrid concludes in the summer of 2024, he will assume the position as Brazil’s coach.
Rodrigues stated, “Diniz’s tactical approach is quite similar to that of Ancelotti, who will take over during the Copa America. We do not refer to him as an interim coach of the national team; instead, he will facilitate the transition for Ancelotti within Brazil.”
Numerous top Brazilian players have expressed their desire for Carlo Ancelotti to become the team’s next manager. Neymar mentioned that he believes the Italian coach “can teach us a lot,” while Vinicius Jr stated that Ancelotti is the best coach in the world and expressed his hope to work with him on the international stage.
Real Madrid has already been linked with potential replacements for Ancelotti. Xabi Alonso, a former midfielder who currently manages Bayer Leverkusen, is being considered as a possible option to take over next summer.
