In a heated exchange on social media, Rex Omar, while expressing his disbelief, referred to Akosua as “the biggest liar” for not speaking up until after the man’s passing.

“Akosua is the biggest liar! So why didn’t she speak about it till now that the man is dead?” he queried

In an interview conducted by Tony Best on Akoma FM’s Entertainment 360 on Saturday, May 20, Akosua Agyapong made allegations suggesting that GHAMRO’s executives frequently engage in cheating and neglect musicians in need. She further claimed that a considerable portion of the royalties intended for the artists is diverted for personal use by these executives.

During the interview, Akosua Agyapong specifically mentioned the case of Kwadwo Akwaboah, revealing that he had personally informed her before his passing that he had received only GH¢250 in royalties. She viewed this as clear evidence of cheating and misconduct.

However, Rex Omar strongly disputed Akosua’s accusations, stating that their records and welfare books contained no evidence to support her claims. He further emphasized that Kwadwo Akwaboah was a man of dignity who would never have made such allegations himself.

“We have no such records in our welfare books. Kwadwo was a very proud man and will never say any such thing to anyone,” he contested

As per the account of the ‘Abiba’ singer, Akwaboah Snr, during his illness, had sought assistance from GHAMRO on only one occasion. The assistance he requested was for transportation to the hospital in order to meet his doctor, and GHAMRO directly paid the funds to the medical facility.

“During his entire years of sickness it’s only once he has ever asked for assistance from Ghamaro and when we did Ghamro welfare led took to him to the hospital in their vehicle to meet his doctor and there was no money paid to Kwadwo himself but to the hospital,” he disclosed

Rex Omar further highlighted the presence of records that could provide evidence to support his statements, emphasizing their existence.

Displaying his exasperation, Rex Omar questioned the sudden emergence of Akosua Agyapong as the spokesperson for Kwadwo Akwaboah after his demise. He urged her to abstain from disseminating fabricated narratives, urging her to let the departed rest in peace.

“Records are there to prove this, Kwado is dead so all of a sudden Akosua has become his spokesperson? She should shut up with her fabricated stories and let the man rest in peace,” he added.
