Mahama Attributes Youth Migration To Poor Governance

John Dramani Mahama, a former President, has voiced his displeasure at the rate at which young people are leaving the nation in search of better lives.

Speaking at the 7th Ghana CEO Summit in Accra, Mr Mahama claimed that the amount of young people leaving the country is proof of its poor governance.

“A steady but determined stream of young people and professionals embarking on mass migration out of the shores of our country is a symptom of an insidious mass governance disease afflicting our nation today,” he said.

He added that it is not ideal for Ghana to lose its top professionals to other nations.

“Our nation loses twice over when we lose some of our best human resource material, while at the same time, the unemployed at home remain unemployed and unskilled.”
