#VGMA24 :Piesie Esther, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Camidoh and Stonebwoy pick their first awards of the night

The 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which is currently ongoing has seen six of the nominees for Artiste of the Year already snag awards in various categories.

The competition has now gotten fierce as its early days yet to predict who will win the coveted Artiste of the Year award

Among the winners were Piesie Esther, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Camidoh, and Stonebwoy, all of whom won their first VGMA awards for the night.

Piesie Esther won the Best Gospel Song of the Year with Waye Me Yie while Sarkodie, one of Ghana’s most celebrated rappers and a veteran in the music industry, won the Best Collaboration of the Year award for his song “Countryside” featuring Black Sherif.

Black Sherif won the Best Hiphop Song of the Year award for his hit song “KWEKU THE TRAVELLER.”

Talented singer-songwriter, Camidoh went home with the International Collaboration of the Year featuring Mayorkun, Darkoo and King Promise while Stonebwoy won the Best Afropop Song of the Year”

Other winners include Perez Music for Best Male Vocal Performance, Best Female Vocal Performance went to Niella.

The Best Hiplife Song of the Year went to Lasmid while MOGBeatz won Producer of the Year and Best Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year went to Epixode.

The awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of these artists, who have all made significant contributions to the Ghanaian music industry in the year under review.

Pundits have described their wins as well-deserved and were celebrated by fans and fellow artists alike.

The 24th edition of the VGMA so far has been a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances from artistes who continue to push the boundaries and set new standards for excellence.
