Government Urged To Adopt Rigorous Measures To Generate Revenue

Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed has said, the government should adopt rigorous measures to generate more revenue.

He added that the government practices what it preaches, and raised concerns about the government’s expenditure, as well as the number of its Ministers.

Mr Mohammed beckoned that the government has turned deaf ears on calls made by several bodies to cut down on its size of government.

He also accused the government of increasing staffers at the Presidency.

He made this comment during a discussion on President Akuffo Addo’s presentation of the State of the Nations Address (SONA).

“This is not only the NDC position. Every single civil society organization in this country including those in academia called on this government to reduce its size of government. Government is unwilling to reduce the size. Now you tell me to tighten up. This government has increased the number of presidential staffers at the Flagstaff House, ” He noted.
