Reshuffle Of Ministers Should Be Done On Expertise – Political Lecturer
A Political Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Joseph Bawa says the reshuffle of ministers of a particular government should be done on the expertise and capabilities of an individual.
Speaking on Spice 91.9 FM about President Akuffo Addo’s appointment and reshuffle of some ministers in his administration, Mr. Bawa pointed out that, expertise cannot be ruled out.
According to him, a person’s competence should be a subject of concern adding that experience also counts as a person is named to head a Ministry.
“Our environment does not consider some qualities. A person’s expertise is equally important in directing the affairs of a Ministry. You can not rule out a person’s expertise. There should be support for them to execute the job given to them,” Joseph Bawa posits.
According to him, experience as well as requisite knowledge is needed to run a particular sector.
Mr. Bawa further touched on the provision of the right environment and tools for government appointees to enhance work efficiency.
“Having the expertise, without trust makes the job very difficult. The environment also plays a role as well as providing the right tools to ensure the job is done well. Without providing them with the right tools, they cannot live up to expectations.” Joseph Bawa said.
