Director General of SSNIT Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang has given the assurance that the Trust is on a mission to protect workers life long investments.
He said it will therefore not renege on its mandate in ensuring that everyone is covered under the Scheme.
Dr. Tenkorang acknowledged the current economic challenges but encouraged individuals and institutions to help the Scheme achieve the target set for themselves.
He said this at the SSNIT Annual Thanksgiving Service in Accra.
“For us at SSNIT we realise that God has done a lot for us, he’s brought us very far from where we started to where we are now. We have some challenging times ahead but we believe that the Lord will see us through and also order our steps to achieve targets we set for ourselves.
This year, we want to make sure that SSNIT is brought to the doorstep of every worker in Ghana, and every worker would then be covered and have something to look forward to in the future.
That is what we’ve committed to do. The challenges going on right now, that everybody knows that we have head wings that we are navigating through the turbulent times that we have to go through that affect not only pensioners whose pensions have been increased this year to be able to cushion them” He said.
