Erratic Power Supply Affecting Production – Managing Director of Narubiz Ltd

Managing Director of Narubiz Rubber Factory, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu has berated the unsteady power supply as a major challenge facing the operations of the company.

He mentioned this when the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah paid a working visit to the factory to assess the progress, look at its challenges and profess solutions.

Mr. Owusu said, the situation is militating against the efficiency of the plant as it is unable to operate at optimum level.

He said the company experiences a lot of power outages and often resort to the use of generator.

The transformer, he stated does not commiserate with the power and appealed for a bigger one.

“We have a lot of power outages. Whenever, we have power outages, it increases our costs, because we have to turn on our gen set. The capacity of the gen set cannot power all the machines at a go, so it reduces our output and variably our efficiency, and in that case, we are losing money.

We turn some of our machines off due to the low voltage of the transformer. It is below what we requested. This is also making us insufficient,” He said.

Mr. Owusu again called on authorities to fix the deteroriated bridge which serves the Daboase township and other adjoining communities.

Naribuz Rubber Factory is a rubber processing factory operating at Dompim in the Wassa East District of the Western Region.

The company was established in 2020 under the government’s one district, one factory as the second rubber processing factory in the country.
