SWAG Breaks Silence On Unguided Statement Against Female Television Presenters

The leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has reacted to comments made about female television presenters who cover and follow Black Stars.

This comes after a presenter with the Media General made an unsubstantiated and vague statement on his Makyee show aired on Onua TV and radio as well as on his Twitter which tends to demean female television presenters.

In a press statement signed by the President of the Association, Kwabena Yeboah finds the comments not only reprehensible and distasteful but very dehumanizing to female members especially those on television.

It mentioned that” many members are professional female sports journalists on television who go about their duties diligently, dutifully and passion but also very responsible with the primary duty to cover sports and major events.”

The statement ends by calling on members to remain calm as leadership engages with Media General and the said presenter whose pronouncement has affected members of the Association.
