Kufuor Calls for Justice Against Offenders in Democracy Hub Protests

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has urged for justice to be served against individuals accused of committing offences during the recent Democracy Hub protests in Accra.
While recognizing the right to peaceful protest, Kufuor condemned the destructive actions, such as property damage and assaults on police officers, which occurred during the demonstrations.
In an interview with Angel FM, Kufuor stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable, particularly for attacks on law enforcement officers.
He emphasized that while citizens’ rights to protest must be protected, unlawful actions must be dealt with under the law.
Kufuor also highlighted the urgent need for a united front in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey), which has had devastating effects on Ghana’s water bodies and natural resources.
He called for a comprehensive strategy to safeguard the nation’s environment, stressing the importance of preserving forests, water bodies, and ecosystems for future generations.
