Public Service Workers Union Expresses Fear Over Ramifications Of Pension Funds
The government’s intended debt restructuring program announced by the Minister of Finance Ken Ofori Atta is not sitting well with workers’ leaders who are expressing fear over serious ramifications for pension funds.
Speaking in an interview with the media, the General Secretary, of the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU), Bernard Adjei described government action so far regarding debt restructuring as giving the impression that the authorities are insensitive to the plight of Ghanaian workers.
He said the issue of pension funds and bonds was not by choice as far as workers’ unions are concerned.
Mr. Adjei warned against any subtle attempt to touch the pension funds under the guise of debt restructuring.
