Make Good Use Of The Internet – Students Advised

A Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET), Mrs. Gifty Twum Ampofo has expressed grave concern about the rising incident of abuse of the digital space by students.

Speaking at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Tarkwa Senior High School, she stressed the need for students to be guided to use the internet and mobile phones positively to impact their studies and lives.

She entreated the youth to take advantage of the digital space to broaden their horizon, build their capacity and build for the future.

Mrs. Gifty Ampofo cautioned students against hiding behind the internet to engage in unacceptable acts.

“There are very productive things you could do with the digital space we find ourselves. Remember the internet doesn’t forget, so anything you put out there, will be there forever,” She advised.

She encouraged students to stick to their books and reach the highest levels in society.

As part of the celebrations, awards were presented to teachers and non-teaching staff, students as well as past students who were contributing to the growth of the school.

The Deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister, George Mireku Duker paid glowing tribute to the school for turning out products that are playing key roles in nationalĀ development.
