The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has announced, it would launch enrollment of the informal sector into its scheme by January 2023.
According to its Director General, Dr John Ofori Tenkorang, the delay of the program was caused by extensive consultation with listed holders in the sector and the need to ensure the system is fully operational.
Speaking at the employer breakfast meeting yesterday in Accra, he noted that businesses in the informal sector are ready to corporate after several stakeholder engagements.
