Axim Chiefs Warns Awulae Adjefi Kwame II Over Unlawful Invasion Of Otupai Territory
The Chiefs of the Axim Traditional Council have cautioned the Paramount Chief of the Nsein Traditional Council, Awulae Adjefi Kwame II, to desist from his illegal invasion of the world Axim lands.
The Divisional Chief of Otupai of Lower Axim Traditional Area, Nana Awuza III, disputed the claim that his jurisdiction is under the Nsein Chief, asserting that only one of Nsein’s nine Chiefs, Awulae Adjefi Kwame II, is falsely claiming lordship of Otupai.
This was during a joint press conference held by the Axim Traditional Council of the Lower and Upper Axim Traditional Areas
He added that they are fed up with going to court and if the Chief of Nsein persists, they would be forced to strike back.
”This is our last press conference we’re holding on this issue. The name Otupai means “war” because even in the olden days, others were invading our jurisdiction. We are ready to face him if he persists on invading our territory.
We have never been under Nsein traditional area and the Omanhene can attest to that. The Nsein traditional council have their own jurisdiction whereas we have our own lands.
I dare the Awulae Adjefi Kwame II, to provide any legal document containing an agreement that Otupai is under his jurisdiction.
We have realised the Chief is here to fight us for our land because we are tired of the court litigation and are ready to fight him back.
We are disappointed by his actions as he has been in authority for the past 60 years and with this happenings, the young chiefs cannot look up to him. We have sent our letters to the various security forces and agencies to intervene else we will strike back,” He stated.
