Electricity customers who bypass their meters by connecting power directly during the period of the technical challenge to keep their lights on, have been advised to reverse the illegal connection.
Some customers were connected directly to the grid due to their inability to purchase prepaid credit.
At a media briefing, the Managing Director of Electricity Company of Ghana, Mahama Dubik said the company’s taskforce will resume its exercise to arrest persons engaged in illegal connections immediately the challenge is completely resolved.
” I’d entreat everybody that the system is up and running now so if you’ve done anything of such call the person who did it for you to reverse it. Because right after all of this, we will embark on illegal connections, ” He mentioned.
On compensation for affected customers, Mr Mahama said customers should channel complaints to the Public Regulatory Commission.
” If you have a problem that was caused through this, there’s a procedure. Visit PURC, lodge your complaints and we will take them on a case by case basis. As for the compensation, it will be managed on case by case basis,” He said.
