The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has insisted there is no form of increment in transport fares as at Monday, September 19, 2022.
This comes after some reports indicated there was going to be an increase in transport fares starting today.
Speaking to the media, Vice Chairman for the GPRTU, Mohammed Tanko says a decision on the increment will be announced after meetings with relevant stakeholders by close of the day, therefore all driver unions must exercise patience.
“Unless we meet the minister, the minister has promised to meet us on Monday in the evening by 4:00 pm so we should go and meet the minister. We the group of GPRTU, Ghana Private Road Transport Union together with the cargo transport association will let the minister know our proposal that we want to increase about 30%,” He mentioned.
