Youth in the Sekondi-Takoradi has been urged to take advantage of technological tools to create jobs for themselves.
Speaking at a ceremony to explore avenues young people can engage in to create jobs, the CEO of Qlik Integrations, Alfred commended the organisers of the event for helping young people to venture into entrepreneurship using technology.
For him, it is important to organise such programmes to bring together young men and women to put them in the right places by offering them the platform to sprint, as well as bring about innovative ideas.
” The more we get innovation ideas, it means we are getting more businesses. It is important to encourage young people to go into partnerships and to do more with entrepreneurship,” He said.
He further encouraged young people not to be limited by funds but to do what they love doing, adding that there are various areas where technology is needed to thrive.
The event, however, presented participants with the opportunity to pitch their business ideas in finance, sanitation, and customer service among others.
Cash prizes amongst other incentives were presented to participants as a form of encouraging them in taking part in the activities.
Participants who spoke to Spice FM said they were grateful to the organisers, ICODE for the opportunity to engage in such a memorable event.
