Lack of Social Amenities Hindering Progress Of Our Community – Assembly Member

The Assembly Member for the Essamang Electoral Area in the Wassa East Municipality, Honourable Amos Adjei says residents, lack access to some social amenities such as health centres, and a good road network amongst others make life unbearable for them.

In an interview with Beach NewsRoom, Hon. Adjei mentions that several calls have been made to the Assembly but no action has been taken to address the concerns.

He mentions communities such as Akakabo, Adukrom and Jerusalem are deprived of some basic amenities which can contribute to a better standard of living for the constituents.

“In my community, there are several problems that needs to be addressed. Indigenes can access health care in other communities, which is very stressful. There’s also a dilapidated school located in the Jerusalem community which needs a facelift. The Assembly is aware of this, but the funds to undertake the works is the problem,” He said.

To boost the local economy, a new market is to be constructed he reveals at Sissam to help businesses in the community to thrive.

“We are looking forward to construct a new market place at Sissam to boost the local economy. With the help of the Assembly, I hope the intended project would see the light of the day, “Mr Adjei added.
