Ghanaian comedian, Abdul Waris Umaru widely known as Comedian Waris says he believes skit makers from Ghana can be known worldwide if the media projects them well.
He made this assertion during an interview on Beach 105.5 Fm’s Entertainment review show “The compound house” hosted by Macall Mensah last Saturday.
He said the media often projects Nigerian works than that of Ghanaian Creatives which is making skit makers in Ghana fall behind when it comes to content creation.
He further added that most content creators are not well known in the country and the media is to be blamed.
“ The Nigerians are doing what we are doing, they have the media pushing them well, but we don’t have media pushing us as well”.
“ When you come to Takoradi, they might not know certain creators who are even in Accra, all because the media is not projecting the content creators to that part of the world but the media can sit down and post all the Nigerians on their pages. Someone will go to Nigeria and say just one word and the person will blow because of the media, they allow the chance for everyone to blow, he added”
