US Ambassador Promises To Aid Ghana In Resolving Growing Food Security Issues

The US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas Greenfield has lauded President Akuffo Addo for his exemplary contribution to the Peace and Security in the West African Region as well as the country’s role on the UN’s security council.

President Akuffo Addo, in a meeting with Thomas-Greenfield, expressed gratitude of Washington to President Akuffo Addo for his efforts in peacebuilding.

She also praised Ghana’s solid relationship with the United States over the years stating that Ghana has been a stalwart and steadfast partner to the United States.

Madam Thomas-Greenfield said, the US welcomes any advice from President Akuffo Addo to deal decisively with the Malian crisis.

Touching on the food crises on the continent in general and Ghana in particular, the US envoy said, there is a need to continue to work with Ghana to address rising food security challenges.

She, however, dismissed the narrative being pushed by Russia that the food crises across the world are as a result of US sanctions on the European giant.
